Okay so there were some questions as to the roles in the band and the music. All these shall be answered and MORE!
*Mel Perez plays electric guitar and sings the low part on "Crimson and Clover" and acoustic guitar on "You've Got to Hide Your Love Away" and "You Can't Always Get What You Want"
*I play bass and sing everything else
*Jorge Perez plays drums and makes fun of us during "Sister Christian"
Letters to Cleo, besides playing two covers ( I want you to want me by Cheap Trick and Cruel to Be Kind by Nick Lowe), also plays Co-pilot which is on the Go! album, their last album released before the band's demise. You can still hear Kay Hanley as the voice of Josie in Josie and the Pussycats movie. The other albums I would recommend are Wholesale Meats and Fish and Aurora Gory Alice.
No Go-Go's covers as of yet...I'm thinking maybe "Beatnik Beach", since it is not as "pop" as their other songs.
We are thinking we might get a gig at the neighborhood pub and I want to go back to the alma mater and play at a photo shindig out in the sticks of Commerce, TX (Mel doesn't know about the latter idea yet)

I love Orlando Bloom...

David is okay with it.

I have seriously failed as a party planner. No one is coming to our VMA party tonight, partly because of a rival party and partly because I suck at organizing stuff while I am busy with work and stuff. Just a little depressed.

I haven't really discussed the girl band thing yet... Mel and I (yes, we are both Melissa's) have been practicing our little butts off with hopes of being local rock stars. We don't have time to be national rock stars. Just popular at Ye Olde Bull and Bush. That is all we ask. Mel's husband will be our drummer. We are the small time to him though. He IS a rock star. Our repetoir includes the likes of Joan Jett, Letters to Cleo, Night Ranger, and the Rolling Stones. We are not so much musicians as fans who can play instruments. We don't like the label "cover band" to be honest.
Today at the studio, I got to take a sledgehammer to a crumbling wall and make a huge mess. It was quite liberating! Who knows what will go down at the studio...always something to build or deconstruct.

So today was interesting...I put on a space age dust-free suit, with zero inch of skin exposed and assisted in photographing these high tech disks for Texas Instruments. If any dust entered this special area where we were, it would cause billions of dollars of damage. Crazy eh? Very glad that is over.

Well, since I believe in the "everybody's doing it" philosophy, I thought I would jump in the blogging craze. Since my husband and a majority of our friends currently blog, I thought that I wanted to be cool like them too. So here I am with my very own blog. Now what do I do? Oh, I see, run my mouth like I usually do, just in electronic form. Not too different from my daily life so far. I'll just wait for something life changing to happen on my blog.

(still waiting...)

Oh, I guess I have to make that happen all by myself.
