Reaction to John Kerry's speech tonight:

wow.

He said everything that I wanted to hear and be realized for America and for our family. Unfortunately, politicians do that for a living. But the future he offers has gotta be better than the present state of things.

At Fast Forward we have a Wonka style promotion where we sell candy bars at 3 bucks a pop and inside a lucky winners candy bar wrapper is a sticker that says you win an exclusive evening with Tony Hawk at a secret location near DFW airport. We had two winners today. There are a total of 100 winning chocolate bars and each admits two people. One lady bought one bar and won it for her son, the other bought 50 (145 dollars on chocolate, people!) and won it for her sons. The latter told her sons they could stand outside Walmart and sell the candy bars with the idea that people would be buying a "chance" to see Tony Hawk.

Why would someone who had such good fortune take advantage of others like that?
And we're back. We must hang with the Legion very very soon. We miss you guys!

Here we are in California...ahhhhh. David and I left Kennedy with her grandma and aunt, commandeered the Jeep Liberty, rolled down the windows and drove down the Pacific Coast Highway to Huntington Beach. It was a beautiful day of walking on the pier, shopping, and watching the surfers. I bought three plastic cameras at the thrift store for a total of $5 and I have been snapping away, trying to get my groove back. Lord, I've needed a vacation.

Well, I got my first full week in at FF. They trust me enough to open all by myself THREE times this week without another manager in sight until 2 o clock. EEK. I'm sure it will be fine. I like working. I feel the ever present (and totally normal) guilt for leaving my baby for 8 hours, but alas, it must be done.

We had burgers with Scott, Tonya, and Garrett today. Scott had not seen our crib yet and had only seen Kennedy once briefly at the mall since she was born. He works very hard for the Guess store at NE mall and doesn't get a lot of time off. It's amazing what just a few years do to us. It used to be that we could pick up and go to a movie. So many I want to see, but it just isn't easy to maneuver.
